The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Help Desk Analyst-Junior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $70000.00 - $96700.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

Position Background:

The Battlespace Division supports modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners-All products are government owned developed and managed.

A typical day as a Help Desk Analyst-Junior may include:

  • Receives tracks researches and responds to customer inquiries (e-mails) for multiple software products in a timely manner
  • Documents responses from engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and communicates solutions to users promptly and clearly
  • Converts Outlook emails to Jira service desk tickets for traceability and as a knowledge base reference for future inquiries
  • Manages the customer-facing Frequently Asked Questions page (hosted on Atlassian Confluence/Wiki) for multiple software products and lists FAQs for users to troubleshoot on their own
  • Works with various software leads to establish/implement solid software support center procedures
  • Works with various software tools (Azure Power Automate Jira etc.) to automate processes
  • Provides admin support when requested (updating defect tickets and service desk workflows on Jira)
  • Performs other training tasks to include; cross-training to assist in developing training materials and peer reviewing work

Must-haves:

  • BS Degree OR BA Degree in technical scientific or business discipline or a qualifying substitution OR Associates Degree plus 4 years of additional work experience (5 years total) OR 6 years of additional work (7 years total)
  • 1 year experience managing a help desk or service desk
  • Experience working independently while proactively researching topics and learning how to troubleshoot issues
  • Experience with organizational software products
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent customer service communication organization and documentation skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • 1 year experience using Atlassian Suite (Jira Confluence/Wiki)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Certification
  • Atlassian Certified Associate (ITSM with Jira Service Management Foundations) Certification
  • Atlassian Certified Professional (Managing Jira Service Projects for Cloud) Certification
  • Security Certification
  • Experience working with a software development team
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office sitting in a cubicle or at a desk looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting walking standing etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions overnight travel may be required.

The employee is required to stand walk and/or move throughout the workday often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
