THE ROLE
Are you driven by the challenge of solving real-world problems with bold creative engineering Do you want your work to directly impact the fight against climate change Were looking for a passionate and inventive Innovation Engineer to join our Innovation & Prototyping team where youll help pioneer the next generation of Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology.
In this hands-on role youll work at the forefront of climate innovationdesigning developing and refining breakthrough prototypes that turn carbon capture into a scalable energy-efficient solution. Youll collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team of engineers scientists and designers to push boundaries iterate quickly and bring visionary concepts to life.
YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Design and Development:
Work closely with the DAC design team to understand project specifications and requirements.
Utilize engineering principles to create physical and/or digital prototypes of DAC systems.
2. Assembly of Mechanical and Electrical Components:
Execute the assembly of prototypes integrating mechanical and electrical components with precision.
Ensure seamless integration of various subsystems within the DAC prototype.
3. Continuous Improvement:
Being an active member of the ideation process at Skytree.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set-up testing procedures and analyze test results and implement iterative improvements to enhance prototype functionality.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with engineers scientists and project managers to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Effectively communicate prototype design decisions changes and test outcomes to team members.
5. Lab Environment Maintenance:
Maintain a clean organized and safe lab environment for prototype development and testing.
Implement and adhere to safety protocols ensuring compliance with industry standards.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A creative problem-solver with a strong engineering background (mechanical mechatronics or related field).
At least 2 years of industry experience in rapid prototyping techniques prototype development specifically in designing and assembling mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles such as: materials science thermal dynamics fluid dynamics vacuum and pressure systems process engineering.
Familiarity with CAD software for both 2D and 3D modeling and electrical diagrams.
Comfortable in a fast-paced experimental environment where ambiguity is part of the journey and priorities can shift on short notice.
You have an innovative mindset constantly thinking outside of the box.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
You are already based in the Netherlands or willing and able to move on short notice within commuting distance to Amsterdam and Almere.
This role requires mostly on-site presence theres limited possibility for hybrid working.
