The School of Nursing educates approximately 500 students enrolled across our traditional BSN RN-BSN MSN and DNP programs. The traditional BSN program is offered in a traditional face-to-face learning general the RN-BSN MSN and DNP programs are online with occasional hybrid opportunities. The graduate programs include three clinical tracks (Womens Health Pediatrics Adult/Gerontology) for the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role as well as pathways in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Health Care Leadership specialties.Job Status:

Salary:
PLNU pays its faculty using a payscale based on experience and academic rank. Faculty salaries using this scale for a 3-semester appointment range from $85952 - $148828 and for a 2-semester appointment range from $77357 - $133945. Both appointment types are available. The actual salary will be based on the experience rank and appointment term of the candidate selected to fill this position.
Job Description:
The School of Nursing is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure track (those with a terminal degree) or professional track (those without a terminal degree) teaching position in the undergraduate program (traditional BSN) and throughout the post-licensure nursing programs (RN-BSN MSN DNP). The university is seeking an individual capable of excellent teaching committed to significant involvement with students both within and outside of the classroom and interested in participating in the academic units service learning and/or undergraduate research programs.
The School of Nursing has a strong commitment to quality teaching a passion for building Christian community with students a tradition of high-impact academic practices and experience in using our skills for collaborative and interprofessional work.
Responsibilities will begin August 2026 and will include teaching a wide variety of courses across nursing programs.
Responsibilities:
Teach in pre-licensure undergraduate and/or post-licensure graduate programs.
Work strategically with diverse colleagues students parents and community members.
Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with students (where possible).
Advise students academically spiritually and socially.
Participate in departmental activities and governance.
Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties.
Contribute to preparing students for their post-graduate career and finding who they are called to be.
Actively participate in the governance and assessment processes of the School of Nursing.
Actively serve in the community and the profession of nursing.
Actively participate in a local church.

Qualifications:
License: Current CA Registered Nurse
Certification: Current National Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner (if teaching in a CNS or FNP specialty graduate track)
Education: A graduate degree (MSN DNP or PhD) or enrollment in an accredited nursing graduate program
Experience: Evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching people from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
Philosophical: Thorough commitment to the concept of a Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university. Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.
Personal: Evidence of Christian commitment and active church addition faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNUs Community Life Covenant.

Must meet California BRN qualifications for full time faculty.
