Sr. Data Scientist Charlotte AI (Remote, ROU)

About the Role:

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to provide technical leadership within our Charlotte AI this role youll architect and drive the development of next-generation AI solutions while mentoring team members and shaping the technical direction of our AI-powered security analyst platform. Youll leverage your extensive experience to tackle our most complex challenges lead research initiatives and help scale Charlotte AIs capabilities across the Falcon Platform.

Youll work at the intersection of advanced AI/ML research and practical cybersecurity applications. Learn more about Charlotte AI: Youll Do:

• Lead the architecture and development of complex LLM-based solutions defining technical approaches and best practices for integration into Charlotte AI

• Drive research initiatives to expand Charlotte AIs capabilities including novel approaches to security-focused AI/ML challenges

• Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance across teams to elevate the overall quality of ML solutions

• Architect and optimize large-scale training pipelines for custom LLMs ensuring production readiness and performance

• Implement mechanistic explainability and interpretability features to ensure Charlotte AIs recommendations are transparent and trustworthy for security professionals

• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate ML innovations into scalable fault-tolerant microservices using modern cloud technologies

• Design and implement robust evaluation frameworks for model performance and security

• Work with massive-scale security data (processing 3 trillion events daily) to extract actionable insights and identify emerging threat patterns

• Partner with product managers and security experts to align model capabilities with real-world security operations needs

• Drive technical decision-making for ML infrastructure and tooling choices

• Contribute to the broader ML community through publications patents and open-source contributions while maintaining CrowdStrikes thought leadership in AI-powered security

What Youll Need:

• 7 years of applied machine learning experience developing and deploying production ML systems

• Strong foundation in ML including LLMs deep learning transformer architectures and state-of-the-art NLP techniques

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch or Hugging Face Transformers

• Proficiency in Python and experience with distributed computing environments

• Experience with production ML pipelines including data preprocessing model training evaluation and deployment

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex security challenges into ML solutions

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to diverse audiences

• Self-starter mentality with a passion for continuous learning and staying current with AI/ML advances

• Track record of mentoring junior data scientists and leading technical initiatives

• Proven ability to drive innovation and research in production environments

Bonus Points:

• PhD or advanced degree in Computer Science Statistics Mathematics or related field with focus on ML/AI

• Track record of research contributions at influential conferences (NeurIPS ICML CVPR ICLR) open-source ML libraries or patents in AI/ML

• Experience with large-scale distributed training and GPU optimization (CUDA TensorRT)

• Experience with security or cybersecurity domains though not required - we will provide mentoring

• Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS Kubernetes Docker) and microservices architecture

• Familiarity with big data technologies (Kafka Cassandra Elasticsearch)

• Experience with Go (Golang) for building high-performance systems

• Background in privacy-preserving ML or adversarial machine learning
