Job Description

Are you an ambitious Science Teacher with the drive to inspire students and contribute to one of the Souths leading schools

A high-achieving secondary school in Southampton is looking for a Science Teacher to join its thriving Science Department from January 2026. This is a full-time permanent role teaching general Science across KS3KS5 with the opportunity to specialise at A-level depending on your expertise.

Location: Southampton Hampshire
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (based on experience)

This Ofsted Outstanding 1118 secondary school educates around 1400 students including a large Sixth Form of over 350 pupils. The Science Department is one of the most well-equipped in the region featuring specialist laboratories for Biology Chemistry and Physics modern data-collection technology and a purpose-built science lecture theatre used for demonstrations and guest lectures. Your Role:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3KS5.

  • Inspire curiosity and foster independent learning.

  • Monitor student progress and provide effective interventions.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a degree in Science or a related field.

  • Have QTS (PGCE or equivalent).

  • Be confident teaching Science at KS4 and ideally KS5.

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for practical hands-on science education.

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
