An Outstanding-rated secondary school in Southampton is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCo to lead and develop the schools provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. The Role
As SENCo you will have strategic and operational responsibility for SEND provision across the school. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team teaching staff parents and external agencies to ensure that all students with additional needs are fully supported to achieve their potential.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing identification assessment and support plans for students with SEND; managing and reviewing EHCPs; leading interventions; and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice. You will support and advise staff on inclusive teaching strategies contribute to staff training and monitor progress and outcomes for students with additional needs.
The role also involves line management of support staff coordinating external professionals and maintaining strong relationships with families to ensure a joined-up and supportive approach.

Experience & Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
Proven experience working with students with SEND
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation EHCPs and best practice
Excellent communication organisation and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff families and external agencies
