Key Responsibilities & Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an academically strong teacher with a degree in English Literature English Language or a closely related discipline holding QTS and possessing proven experience teaching across the secondary age range.
In this full-time role you will:
- Instruction & Attainment: Deliver high-quality engaging lessons in English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and GCSE (KS4) with the ability to teach A-Level being highly desirable.
- Skill Development: Develop students analytical and interpretive skills critical thinking and advanced essay writing abilities preparing them thoroughly for public examinations.
- Curriculum Engagement: Introduce students to a diverse range of literary and non-fiction texts promoting a lifelong appreciation for reading and the power of language.
- Collaboration: Contribute actively to the English department team sharing resources and participating in extracurricular activities such as debating or creative writing clubs.
