Key Responsibilities & Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a committed academic with a degree in Psychology Sociology or a closely related Social Science holding QTS and having proven success teaching both subjects up to the advanced level.

In this full-time role you will:

  • Dual Instruction: Deliver high-quality rigorous lessons in both Psychology and Sociology across GCSE (KS4) and A-Level (KS5).
  • Curriculum Expertise: Confidently teach core topics in both disciplines including social influence cognitive development research methods theory and contemporary social issues (e.g. crime families).
  • Critical Thinking: Foster strong analytical critical evaluation and essay writing skills helping students master complex theoretical concepts and research methodologies.
  • Attainment Focus: Utilise data effectively to monitor student progress provide targeted support and ensure excellent academic outcomes in public examinations.
  • Collaboration: Contribute actively to the wider Social Science faculty sharing resources and expertise across both subjects.
