Job Summary

Job Title: X-Ray Technologist
Specialty: General Diagnostic Radiography
Site: VA San Diego Healthcare System
Location: 3350 La Jolla Village Dr San Diego CA 92161
Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of 4 years extension

Shift Schedule:

Monday Sunday coverage Midnight Midnight (24/7 coverage window)

40 hours/week

May include weekends/holidays

On-call with 30-minute report time as assigned

License /Certifications:

ARRT certification in Radiography
State of California licenses in Radiography and Fluoroscopy
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

Minimum 2 years full-time recent experience (within last 3 years)
Experience with portable & fixed X-ray and C-arms
PACS experience

Responsibilities:

Perform full-body radiography and specialized procedures (cholangiography lumbar/thoracic myelography GI studies IVP arteriography operative cholangiography arthrography)
Receive/prepare patients
Set technical factors
Set up suites and sterile supplies
Transmit/archive images in PACS
Documentation in VistA/CPRS
assist with contrast under radiologist supervision
Follow VA/JCAHO standards
Wear self-provided scrubs.
