Job Description

Job Title: PEBLO Assistant (Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer Assistant)
Location: 10th Medical Group U.S. Air Force Academy Colorado 80840

Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8- or 10-hour shifts betweenexcluding federal holidays

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience:

    • Prior administrative experience in a healthcare or military setting preferred.

    • Experience in medical case management disability evaluation systems or administrative support for healthcare programs is a plus.

  • License/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.

    • Strong organizational record-keeping and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) process within the Military Treatment Facility.

  • Obtain assemble and forward all required documents and records for active duty reserve and guard members undergoing medical evaluation.

  • Act as a liaison between service members their commanders medical staff case managers and disability evaluation stakeholders.

  • Advise service members and families on the medical board process rights and benefits.

  • Assist with preparation of impartial medical reviews rebuttals and appeals.

  • Track cases through the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) ensuring timelines and documentation requirements are met.

  • Coordinate with the Informal and Formal Physical Evaluation Boards (IPEB/FPEB) and the Office of the Disability Counsel (ODC).

  • Maintain accurate logs records and reports related to the PEB process.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD and DHA policies safeguarding confidentiality of patient records.

  • Provide compassionate and professional customer service to service members and their families during the evaluation process.
