Job Title: PEBLO Assistant (Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer Assistant)
Location: 10th Medical Group U.S. Air Force Academy Colorado 80840
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8- or 10-hour shifts betweenexcluding federal holidays
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Prior administrative experience in a healthcare or military setting preferred.
Experience in medical case management disability evaluation systems or administrative support for healthcare programs is a plus.
License/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Other Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
Strong organizational record-keeping and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) process within the Military Treatment Facility.
Obtain assemble and forward all required documents and records for active duty reserve and guard members undergoing medical evaluation.
Act as a liaison between service members their commanders medical staff case managers and disability evaluation stakeholders.
Advise service members and families on the medical board process rights and benefits.
Assist with preparation of impartial medical reviews rebuttals and appeals.
Track cases through the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) ensuring timelines and documentation requirements are met.
Coordinate with the Informal and Formal Physical Evaluation Boards (IPEB/FPEB) and the Office of the Disability Counsel (ODC).
Maintain accurate logs records and reports related to the PEB process.
Ensure compliance with DoD and DHA policies safeguarding confidentiality of patient records.
Provide compassionate and professional customer service to service members and their families during the evaluation process.
