Job Description

This position supports the overall cleanliness safety and functionality of Rochester Community and Technical College. Responsibilities include campus-wide cleaning and maintenance snow removal landscaping and occasional support for delivery receiving and mailroom operations. The role plays a key part in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students staff faculty and visitors.

Salary Range:

$20.51 - $25.43 / hourly; $42824 - $53097 / annually

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Different types of flooring/floors covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods materials agents and equipment.
  • Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia bleaches scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s) handle and apply and dispose of safely.
  • Methods tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.

Ability to:

  • Follow oral and written instructions.
  • Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
  • Keep adequate records.

Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions:

  • Ability to perform work functions using ladders scaffolding etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs regularly and 30-50 lbs on occasion (with assistance as available).
  • Capable of frequent standing walking lifting carrying pushing and pulling and repetitive activities such as standing walking lifting bending reaching carrying pushing and pulling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Good human relations skills work habits and self-motivation
  • Valid Drivers License
