Southeastern Louisiana Universitys Transfer Student Success Center invites applications for a 12-month Transfer Student Coordinator position.
The Transfer Student Success Center (TSSC) an office under the College of Honors and Excellence (CHE) supports students transferring with 30 or more credit hours by providing onboarding advising registration assistance and academic support to ensure a smooth transition to Southeastern. The TSSC offers in-person and virtual services including major exploration transfer-specific orientation programs connections to campus resources and networking events. We work to eliminate transfer shock by guiding students through Southeasterns policies academic expectations and engagement opportunities.
The Transfer Student Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of the Transfer Student Success Center to provide comprehensive support services including advising and mentoring for incoming and current transfer students with 30 or more credit hours who the TSSC serves.
The Coordinator assists in developing transfer-specific programming a proactive advising plan for transfer students an in-person and virtual transfer orientation and a comprehensive communication plan. Additionally the Coordinator assists in implementing programs services and resources that facilitate a smooth transition promote student success and help achieve the Centers strategic objectives.
This position collaborates closely with the Director to enhance the transfer student experience streamline processes and develop a transfer-friendly campus culture aligned with the universitys mission and priorities.
Provides service in-person by phone and via email to incoming and current students who have questions/concerns with transfer credits.
Works closely with admissions and academics to develop printed and electronic resources for current and potential transfers.
Provides appropriate referrals to ACE coaches when students need academic coaching or career/major exploration.
Assists in other areas of the Center for Student Excellence as needed.
Contribute to and participate in orientation and recruiting programs. Provide outreach to prospective undergraduate students and their parents during orientation recruiting events campus visits and on an individual basis.
Working with a team of other CSE professionals in continued pursuit of improved and effective CSE services focusing on student success and retention.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree conferred by hire date from an accredited university and experience in one or more of the following areas: Admissions Advising Working with college students in a professional role Teaching Counseling/Case Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree preferred.
Two or more years of work in admissions advising teaching counseling and/or experience working with college students.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Moodle Google Suite Peoplesoft Workday LeoNet Transfer Evaluation System (TES) Calendly and Zoom.
