This internship experience provides participants with a meaningful relevant work experience as part of their academic addition to daily responsibilities participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including:

At the conclusion of this position interns will have increased their knowledge of investing the mutual fund industry employee engagement and a firm understanding of how finance works at an asset manager.

The MFS Summer Internship program is a 10-12-week program starting June 2nd 2026 and ending on August 7th 2026. Students work full-time Monday through Friday 35-40 hours per week and are paid hourly. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Internships are open to students who are rising seniors (class of 2027).

MFS is a hybrid work environment (with 2 remote days and 3 on-site days) unless otherwise stated in the job posting.

THE ROLE

Our finance team works side by side with each business group to capture financial information including revenue and expenses as well as key metrics that drive the business such as sales and assets. By working closely with our Corporate Finance team this associate supports the financial and operational needs of the business through reporting financial analysis budgeting and forecasting.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Monthly analysis of general ledger accounts and activity.

Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and support the Corporate Balance Sheet Review process.

Involvement in the monthly financial statement close process.

Assist in preparation of journal entries in general ledger.

Assist in oversight of the calculation and reporting of financial intermediary payments.

Ad hoc projects and analysis as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Working toward a Bachelors degree preferably with a concentration in finance accounting or other related financial discipline.

Strong written and oral communication skills including listening skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented with good organizational skills and self-motivated.

Ability and willingness to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced casual yet professional environment

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
