Summary: The Psychology Department at Grand Valley State University invites applicants for adjunct teaching for the Winter 2026 semester and beyond. Candidates must have earned a graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in psychology or related field and have backgrounds that enable them to teach Introductory Psychology Health Psychology Social Psychology Research Methods Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Child Development or Life Span Development. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates from underrepresented groups and from candidates who have interest and/or experience in working with diverse student and community populations. The successful candidate should also have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
GVSU has a large and diverse group of 47 full-time psychology faculty members who engage in teaching and research in all areas of psychological science. The Adjunct Professor hire will have access to shared laboratory facilities and equipment and an undergraduate subject pool should they want to continue their research or collaborate with other faculty or students. They also will have free access to a full state-of-the-art recreation center and library and also opportunities to apply for internal professional development funding.
