Job Profile Title: Sr. Automation Engineering Technician
Location/Division Specific Information On-site Grantsville/ SLC
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday- 3pm MDT- 11:30pm (2nd shift)
How will you make an impact-
The purpose of the job is to support design engineers in various mechanical electrical electronics and/or software application automation projects. A Sr Automation Engineering Technician is responsible for drafting design drawings within the area of assignment. This position is to provide end user support in installation and training of automation technologies.
What will you do
Performs a variety of diagnostic troubleshooting activities on assembly automation equipment
Makes mechanical electrical pneumatic or hydraulic repairs to assembly automation equipment
Performs equipment failure analysis repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on robotic and automated equipment
Sets up manual and semi-automatic assembly lines and assists in operating pre-production runs
Assists in installing new automated equipment and in moving equipment to new locations
Creates new robot programs and edit existing robot programs
Updates manuals and programs for automated equipment
Keeps accurate reports of all activities performed on each piece of equipment
Provides input to engineering staff on areas for machine improvements
Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
How will you get here
Education:
Two-year technical degree in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering
Experience:
Experience in EMS industries
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of mechanical/electronics/electrical/software application engineering
Knowledge of automation equipment assembly and installation
Ability to work either 2ndt Shift (Shift is 2nd shift hours of Monday Friday3:00pm MDT- 11:30 pm MDT with some weekends and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-4 years experiences in automation equipment assembly and installation
An equivalent combination of education training or experience will be considered
Willingness to work OT and Weekends as needed
Hourly rate range: $30/ hour - $36/ hour
