Job Summary
The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt is comprised of an adult & adolescent unit with 12 beds. The Center for Eating Disorders is located in a specially designed and elegantly appointed setting for patients with complex eating disorders. A team of Board Certified Psychiatrists coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of experienced professionals including nurses licensed clinical social workers registered dieticians expressive arts therapists and psychologists. Medical problems are closely monitored by a panel of carefully selected consulting specialists. The Center for Eating Disorders is located on Sheppard Pratts main campus in Towson (Baltimore County).
The Center for Eating Disorders has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Worker! The Mental Health Worker under close supervision of the Staff Nurse participates in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors. Provides direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse. Assists in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED. Human Services related degree or past direct care or related experience strongly preferred.
- Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
- Must be available to attend 7 day mandatory clinical orientation training: Thursday Friday and the following Monday through Friday (excluding Saturday & Sunday) 8:00am-4:30pm each day.
- In addition to the 7 day clinical orientation you will be required to complete a 8 week unit orientation. During this time you will be required to work a total of 8 day shifts for orientaion to familiarize yourself with all shifts.
