The Custodial Supervisor supervises Custodians performing routine manual tasks in maintaining the cleanliness sanitary conditions and appearance of County buildings to include all detention facilities and performs higher level specialized custodial tasks.

Position Qualifications

We recognize your time is valuable so please apply if you meet the following required qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Two (2) years of custodial work experience

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications

  • Other combinations of education or experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Other requirements

  • Must possess or can obtain by the time of hire a valid Arizona drivers license.
  • Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA.
  • Prior to hiring the Sheriffs Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Experience working in a high security environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of grammar spelling and punctuation.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft 365 and Office applications (e.g. Excel Word).
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Compensation is more than a salary with MCSO:

Work occurs primarily indoors working in MCSO jail facilities with various staff and all classifications of inmates.

Work occurs indoors in a 24/7 operation which requires ability to work any may include inmate contact and working in dangerous environments. Tasksrequire manual dexterity to operate equipment as well as ability to managefrequent interruptions time pressures and high work volume. Position requires teamwork concentration accuracy and ethical conduct.

Typically successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to midpoint of the range based on applicable experience internal equity and budgetary allowances.
