NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK Candidates for this position must be licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Chapter 74 Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies Instructor or have at least 5 years work experience in the field of metal fabrication and joining technologies a High School Diploma or higher and/or in the process of obtaining a Chapter 74 Metal Fabrication and Joining Technologies License. Candidates for this position will be expected to implement instruction with a strong focus on Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for teaching topics such (as but not limit to) Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) electrodes hand and power tools oxy-fuel and plasma cutting MIG TIG and stick welding. Individuals applying for this position will commit to work collaboratively with instructors within and across all disciplines as required to assist in implementing an academy structure. Candidates will participate in Professional Learning Communities on school-wide department goals and academic-vocational integration activities. Candidates will ensure personal professional growth on a yearly basis with a focus on continuous improvement in student Responsibilities:Implement and plan a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the learning and offering of Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC) in the program.
