About the role:

We are looking for a Project Manager experienced in New Product Development of medical devices to support our intravascular lithotripsy portfolio. This role reports into the Associate Director PMO and will be responsible for making key decisions to ensure project deliverables are met or exceeded.

Work Mode

At Boston Scientific we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be on our Carlsbad CA campus at least four to five days per week.

Your Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement overall project plan including cost schedule risk performance and monitor progress against key business objectives and goals
  • Managing basic project structure and governance (scope roles & responsibilities workstreams risks communication & alignment etc.)for project activities
  • Develop comprehensive set of key project milestones and project plan to establish budget and resource plan.
  • Lead the team in appropriate decision making through the ability to organize and analyze options and build logical arguments.
  • Communicates project status & performance by preparing standard status reports/dashboards and facilitating status update meetings.
  • Leads cross-functional team(s) to evaluate design build and implement solutions to support the project outcomes.
  • Identifies communicates and manages technical risk and knowledge gaps.
  • Communicates key decisions and status to leadership. Liaison between the team and governing bodies.
  • Willingness to travel to sites vendors customers etc. as needed. Travel not expected to exceed 15%.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 7 years of experience as a Project Manager or similar position with demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams through the product development process to commercialization for medical devices
  • Commercial execution and product launch experience
  • Strong business acumen & strategic thought leadership
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate fluently and concisely to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree
  • PMP certification
  • Candidate to be comfortable in front of all levels of the organization as well as external customers
  • Candidate to have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships within project teams
  • Problem solving technical expertise
  • Proficient with MS Project
  • Experience with product development projects involving a disposable console (system)

Maximum Salary: $232000

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) see vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training pertinent education including licensure and certifications among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly) non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g. any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt non-sales roles may also include variable compensation i.e. annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
