Job Summary

Summary
Simplot Grower Solutions Summer Operations Internships involve working directly with retail locations and production plant operations. After a week of training and orientation each Intern will be paired with a seasoned Location Manager mentor. Interns will assist their mentors as well as other locations in the area in their daily activities. Opportunities to attend educational field days and meetings are common during the summer and internsare encouraged to attend. Interaction with growers is an integral aspect of a retail location and interns will often be a part of that interaction. Our motto at Simplot is One Simplot meaning we are all in this together. On occasion interns could be asked to assist Crop Advisors with tasks to help get the job done. Simplot has the solution to the seed crop protection and crop nutrition needs of growers.
Key Responsibilities
Daily activities include:
- Inventory management
- Shipping and Receiving
- Product processing
- Simplots software system is used daily and interns will be involved in using the program
- Interns are given a specific challenging task that are required to be fulfilled by the end of the summer
Typical Education
Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college or have graduated no more than 6 months prior to start of internship
Major in Agriculture Agribusiness Agronomy Crop Science Systems Management or other related major
Relevant Experience
A farm background or farm experience is preferred but not required
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Motivated and detail oriented
Experience with computers specifically MicroSoft Office Suite
Effective communicator
Required Certifications
Valid drivers license
