Temporary Canadian & US Wellbeing Specialist
Type: Hybrid FullTime 6Month Contract (with possibility of permanent)

Position Summary
As a Canadian & US Wellbeing Specialist We are looking for a dynamic Wellbeing Specialist who will serve as the organizations lead expert in employee pension and benefit programs. This role is integral in shaping and delivering programs that support the financial physical and overall wellbeing of employees across Canada and the United successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with a people-first mindset ensuring programs remain competitive compliant and aligned with organizational goals. This position will also play a key role in advising leadership managing external providers and guiding employees through complex pension and benefits matters.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Design manage and continuously improve retirement savings and employee benefit plans (including health dental vision life disability 401(k) pension RRSP).
- Monitor and evaluate service providers and consultants to ensure quality standards and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Oversee program enrollment renewals changes and compliance requirements.
- Lead program reviews audits and reconciliations while ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
Employee Engagement & Advisory
- Act as the primary point of expertise for employees and managers on pension and benefits programs.
- Provide education resources and tools that empower employees to make informed decisions about their wellbeing.
- Respond to escalated questions or issues providing timely and accurate solutions.
Strategic Contribution
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to shape and evolve the organizations wellbeing strategy.
- Recommend program improvements new initiatives or policy changes to enhance employee experience and organizational competitiveness.
- Contribute to projects such as collective bargaining organizational integration and board-level reporting
Risk & Financial Oversight
- Support the development of annual wellbeing budgets and evaluate cost implications of new programs.
- Ensure programs comply with federal provincial and state regulations.
- Anticipate future needs and trends providing insights into potential risks or opportunities
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement wellbeing initiatives that align with organizational priorities
- Build strong relationships with external partners including insurance carriers and consulting firms.
- Mentor colleagues and share subject matter expertise across the HR team
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate HRIS and benefits system records; conduct data audits reconciliations and generate analytics for executives and auditors.
Strategic Project Support
- Support Total Rewards and broader HR projects: system implementations acquisitions/divestitures policy development pension governance and wellbeing strategy execution.
- Contribute to board-level materials and strategic planning.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in benefits and pension administration ideally in both Canadian and U.S. contexts (corporate or union environments).
- CEBS CPS SHRMSCP or CPHR certification is a significant asset.
Technical Skills
- Proficient with HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday SAP Oracle PeopleSoft) and MS Excelincluding data analysis and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant pension legislation and benefit administration across Canada and the U.S.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in deadline-driven environments.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid arrangement: typically remote Mondays & Fridays in-office TuesdaysThursdays.
- Occasional travel may be required for stakeholder or project engagements.
- Fast-paced role with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
