Job Description
Assesses the nursing needs of patients and their families. Develops coordinates and implements nursing care plans with patients families and health care providers. Maintains patient records and prepares reports. Supervises and/or performs medication administration and monitoring. Participates in quality assurance activities. Supervises and instructs paraprofessional nursing personnel in the care of patients and the maintenance of their areas. Plans implements and evaluates nursing services in a specialized area. Plans programs makes policies and develops standards and procedures in relation to nursing in a specialized area. Consults with members of the health care team. Performs outreach activities to provide services. Monitors unit staffing levels to minimize costs and resource usage.

Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and one year related nursing experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require a valid drivers license. Requires certification in Basic Life Support prior to the completion of general orientation. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Physical Requirements: (Note: The following descriptions are applicable to this section: Continuous - 6-8 hours per shift; Frequent - 2-6 hours per shift; Infrequent - 0-2 hours per shift) Ability to perform job functions in an upright position.
