Department Overview
At Motorola Solutions we are helping solve some of the biggest challenges around safety and physical security by developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and products that are used to help keep people businesses and cities around the world safer. Motorola Solutions Video Division designs develops and manufactures advanced AI video analytics network video management software and hardware surveillance cameras and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems.
Job Description
Our co-ops dont wash cars or do coffee runs. They also dont work on side projects. Our co-ops are treated like full team members and are given the opportunity to learn what being a developer is like in the real world. Youll have the
opportunity to learn new technologies and best practices in coding testing and automation.
Youll also have a lot of fun and make a lot of friends. For the duration of your work term you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for the design and implementation of the next generation of Motorolas market-leading high-performance video solutions products.
Responsibilities include:
- Design implement and unit test new Access Control features
- Investigate troubleshoot and resolve software defects
- Work within cross-functional teams to improve architectures/designs/frameworks/processes
Qualifications:
- An unending desire to learn apply and share
- Strong believer of good design patterns reusability and scaling methodologies
- Excited by new challenges and have passion and initiative to get things done
- Passion for UX and an eye for UI
- Experience in Front-End technologies (Ruby on Rails; JavaScript; React; ; HTML; CSS; XML; REST; SOAP)
Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Ruby on Rails
- Experience with Redis
- Experience with Yocto builds
Target Base Salary Range: 38000 - 50000 CAD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge skills and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
