Employment type: Full time Permanent

Hours: 38 per week Afternoon shift 2PM to 11 PM Monday to Friday

Remuneration: Band 5 salary from $86136.96 plus a 15% shift allowance superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

Location: Werribee based



About the role

As a Road Safety Officer with Wyndham City Council you will provide effective and efficient education and enforcement of legislation relating to parking and road safety.

You will also engage with the community to promote community safety as it relates to parking and road safety including responding to customer requests regarding illegal parking abandoned and unregistered vehicles.

Ideally you will be available to work a Monday to Friday 2pm to 11pm roster and this will attract a 15% shift allowance. We may consider applications for future day shift positions as well but please confirm on your cover letter whether you have availability only for afternoon shift or also for day shift.

What your day will look like

Provide guidance advice and assistance to drivers in relation to parking compliance matters

Take appropriate enforcement action where contraventions of parking legislation are identified

Respond promptly to customer requests relating to illegal parking as well as abandoned and unregistered vehicles

Patrol and supervise school crossings

Present evidence in the Magistrates Court as required

Accurately record correspondence notes and evidence in Councils systems




What you will bring

Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain

Previous experience in a parking compliance or regulatory role (Previous experience in Local Government Highly Desirable)

Demonstrated experience in a dynamic customer-focused role

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and general IT proficiency including an electronic infringement issuing device

The ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation

Excellent time management and communication skills

Current Victorian Drivers License
