JOB SUMMARY:
The Afterschool/Summer Ministry Program Development Director has the responsibility to define a dynamic Christ-centered program model operating across multiple sites that integrates transformational Christian discipleship strong academic enrichment focused on tutoring and learning acceleration and comprehensive health and physical education into an afterschool/summer setting. Anchored in a matrix model this role guides and equips site leaders to ensure consistent delivery of a high-impact holistic youth experience. Acting as the ministrys lead developer and chief advocate the Director shapes the programs direction supports continuous improvement and represents the ministry both internally and externally ensuring the afterschool/summer program reflects the mission excellence and heart of Emerald Youth.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Organize theprogram modelstructure and offerings forthe afterschool/summer ministry.
- Research select and/or develop academic nutrition fitness reading STEAM or other assessment and curricular resources and train/coach staff in curriculum collection and distribution of shared resources toolkits curriculum and templates.
- Lead planning process each semester and help ensure site plans appropriately reflect the model.
- Implement academic assessment (NWEA MAP) across afterschool programs to guide individualized learning and ensure students are placed in appropriate skill development activities in Learning Labs and tutoring.
- Monitor trends in student academic progress at the individual ministry location and program-wide levels; coach staff in planning and interventions to improve learning outcomes.
- Oversee the academic tutoring program including the hiring and placement of paid tutors determining students to prioritize for tutoring managing tutoring curriculum and resources and providing ongoing coaching and technical assistance for tutors.
- Coordinate peer learning and collaboration sessions connecting all sites for training and sharing of best practices
- Serve as a resource for parents and staff in academic advocacy interventions resources discipline IEPs/504s in both the JustLead and Calling and Career tools and ways parents can be engaged in their childs development.
- Support the Grants and Foundations Director in reporting to grants related to academic support data; maintain reports including NWEA MAP learning lab and tutoring data and usage.
- Grow existing and develop newrelationshipsthat can help supportJustLead and/or advance comprehensive engagement including referral sources for participants and volunteersand partnerships withservice providers interest groups and other youth-serving nonprofits.
- Develop and maintain learning-related budgets.
- Manage volunteer groups that are related to curriculum and resources to support programs.
- Serve as atrainer within Emerald Youth University; developing and facilitating courses related to the operation of the program and ongoing professional development for staff tutors and volunteers.
- Manage additional projects and tasks as assigned participate with any assigned groups or committees and participate in area ministry network and organization events including working outside normal schedule as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A person who is striving to shape thoughts and actions after the servant leader model of Jesus Christ. (Phil. 2:5-8) Has a commitment to work hard and unselfishly in Christian community a passion to keep learning adopted practices and high standards which support a life worthy of a Kingdom of God calling with children and is able to meet the expectations of service with others.
- Certified teacher with bachelors degree in education or Curriculum & Instruction preferred
- Ideally 5-7 years of K 8thgrade classroom experience
- Ministry experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Able to inspire and motivate team experience managing people.
- Attention to detail.
- Willingness to work extended hours.
- Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative setting.
