Job Summary:
The Catering Food Expeditors role is to communicate with the cooks. Pull all the food items for deliveries. This role is the communications conduit between the kitchen and the drivers. The key to position is to ensure that the client receives 100% accuracy on every order. The expeditor is the connection that ensures each delivery is 100% complete in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Pre-Planning
o Confirms with the Kitchen the day before that each order is updated and correct
o Develop a game plan for the delivery driver the day before for deliveries
Day Of Execution
o Works off the BEO and checks off each item needed to complete the order
o Maintains verbal communication with the chef and cooks
o Conducts on-time check for kitchen and drivers
o Monitors the quality of dishes and ensures correct amounts are delivered
o Ensures adherence to health and sanitation standards of all orders
o Temps all food before it leaves the kitchen
o Confirms with the kitchen on the completion of each order
o Hands off order to delivery driver and confirms with the delivery driver the order is 100% complete and accurate
o Addresses problems with accuracy and quality of each order
o Assists staff where needed
End of Day List
o Cleans and maintains all warming cabinets
o Label Expo Boards Daily
Qualifications:
- Positive Attitude
- Previous experience as a food expeditor or similar role
- Works well in a fast-paced high stress environment
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Multitasking and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and goal oriented
- Caterease Knowledge
- Valid Drivers License
- Clean Driving Record
- Can Lift 50 pounds or more
- Reliable and Punctual
- Can work on weekends and holidays and handle shifting work schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent
