PANDA is Australias only national perinatal mental health helpline. We walk alongside parents and families through pregnancy and the first year of parenthood a time of profound change joy and challenge. Our free phone and online services provide mental health support informed by clinical expertise evidence and the powerful voices of people with lived experience.

About the role

Were looking for a compassionate Clinical Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time remote position where youll provide phone-based clinical and counselling support to parents and families helping them feel heard understood and supported.

In this role youll:

  • Deliver phone-based counselling risk assessments and care coordination.
  • Provide intake triage psychoeducation and connect families with resources.
  • Maintain accurate client records and contribute to data collection.
  • Collaborate with peers clinicians and volunteers to continuously improve our services.
  • Participate in training resource development and professional growth activities.
  • The standard hours currently offered for this role are: Monday to Wednesday 9:00am to 5:06pm; Thursday Flexible (either 9:00am to 5:06pm or 11:54am to 8:00pm); Friday 11:54pm to 8:00pm. Please note that these hours may be adjusted over time in response to operational needs.

What were looking for

Essential:

PANDA are seeking a qualified mental health professional that meets one of the following criteria:

  • Psychologists Fully registered and eligible for membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) or the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI).
  • Social Worker Fully Registered and eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Counsellors Registered with either the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) at Level 3 or above or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) at Clinical or Certified Practising level.
  • Other Allied Health Professionals Were also open to considering Occupational Therapists or Mental Health Nurses who have formal counselling training and demonstrated experience providing therapeutic support.
  • Strong skills in person-centred care clinical decision-making teamwork and communication.
  • Comfort with admin tasks and using data systems (and MS Office).
  • A genuine commitment to supporting diverse parents and families through their mental health journey.

Desirable:

  • Experience in phone-based or virtual mental health services.
  • Knowledge of perinatal mental health intake or triage.
  • Interest in education or creating mental health resources.

Remote Role Essentials:

  • This is a remote role work from home anywhere in Australia.
  • Youll need a safe private home office with reliable internet a desk and an adjustable chair. Well supply you with a secure PANDA laptop.
  • Youll also need current Working With Children Check and criminal record checks.
