We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide direct support to attorneys and ensure the smooth operation of daily legal and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly organized adaptable and able to handle a wide variety of responsibilities including case file management court filings client communication and scheduling. This role is key to keeping cases on track and supporting attorneys throughout litigation arbitration and mediation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Case & Document Management: Draft proofread and format legal documents correspondence and memoranda; organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
Court Filings & Litigation Support: Prepare file and serve pleadings in state and federal courts; assist with assembling deposition and trial materials including exhibits and binders; track case calendars and deadlines.
Arbitration & Mediation Coordination: Support scheduling conflict checks and event logistics; assist with virtual proceedings using Zoom/Teams including breakout room setup.
Administrative Support: Manage attorney calendars travel arrangements and expense reports; assist with billing and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients experts and court staff while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred; paralegal certificate a plus.
24 years of experience as a Legal Assistant preferably in litigation or arbitration practices.
Familiarity with federal and state court rules and e-filing systems (CM/ECF PACER).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; experience with legal practice management software preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
