What Youll Do

  • Cleans/disinfects office and operating buildings and maintains adequate supplies in restrooms lavatories and for drinking fountains
  • Handles clean soiled contaminated or damaged work clothing in change houses locker rooms and laundry cleans partition glass and door glass and washes and cleans walls trim and baseboards
  • Operates power equipment such as floor scrubbing equipment low speed and high speed buffers to scrub clean polish wax and maintain floors
  • Applies or utilizes various cleaning chemicals and pesticides
  • Performs all labor-type duties
  • Some work requires specific safety and/or personal protective equipment clothing or training

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent is required
  • Requires experience in general janitorial work or in work associated with routine cleaning

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions and to provide both oral and written communications
  • Must be physically able to perform lifting requirements of the position
  • Must be able to work shift work to include 12 hourrotating shift
  • Candidate selection consists of skills assessment interview and medical screening

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
