Job Description
MK2 Engineers is looking for an exceptional individual to fill our growing electrical departments Electrical Design Engineer role.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience in a US-based A/E firm or design-build contractor
- EIT license preferred
- BSEE degree from an accredited university
Desired Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong organizational and people skills
- Expertise in electrical system design and electrical design software
- Proficiency in California electrical codes Title 24 Energy Standards NEC and NFPA
- AutoCAD experience
- Revit experience is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for concepts and documentation from schematic through construction administration phases
- Design of electrical power and lighting systems for new construction retrofits and system upgrades
- Electrical load calculations voltage drop calculations short circuit study
- Prepare and document required code research for projects
- Prepare specifications technical reports and system narratives
- Site investigations field visits and construction support services
- Oversee QA/QC process of projects including drafting
- Interface with team members of other disciplines in our integrated collaborative environment
- Client and consultant interface - coordinate with consulting architect civil and structural engineers
