Job Description
We are looking for a Software Build & DevOps Architect to modernize and optimize the build and release ecosystem of our global software suite for environmental modelling. At the same time you will be joining great colleagues in a truly international company who are solving global challenges in water environments.

Your responsibilities and challenges
MIKE is developed across multiple languages (C C# .NET Fortran and Python APIs) and powers mission-critical solutions in environmental modelling and engineering. The role requires someone who can modernize alegacy build system into ascalable automated CI/CD platform while understanding the unique challenges ofdesktop software builds.
You will be joining our dedicated engineering team at our headquarters in Hørsholm Denmark to:
- Architect and implement a modern build automation and CI/CD framework for MIKE desktop software across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Migrate from legacy build systems to config-as-code pipelines (Jenkins Azure DevOps GitHub Actions or similar).
- Build maintain and optimize Docker containers with required compilers SDKs and development tools.
- Define and enforce best practices for dependency management (CMake Conan NuGet).
- Integrate automated testing (unit integration regression performance) into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure artifact management versioning and traceability across all builds.
- Collaborate closely with product teams to onboard repositories into the new pipelines.
- Mentor engineers transitioning from legacy build processes to modern cross-platform workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement in build reliability speed and developer efficiency.
Your qualifications and personal skills
We are looking for a new colleague to join us on our modernization journey who has a Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science engineering and has a strong background in software build engineering and DevOps practices.
Solid experience with:
- Proven track record as a Build/DevOps Architect or similar role.
- Expertise with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on knowledge of both Linux and Windows build environments including compilers shells and scripting ecosystems.
- Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting build pipelines for C /C# across Windows and Linux.
- Solid knowledge of CMake and package managers such as Conan and NuGet.
- Scripting proficiency (Bash PowerShell Python or Groovy) with strong emphasis on Linux shell scripting.
- Strong Git experience managing multi-repo workflows.
- Deep understanding of build artifact management and release engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform).
- Proven experience building Docker containers for development build and test environments on both Linux and Windows.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for build and test orchestration.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong cross-team collaboration skills.
Ideally experience with:
- Configuring and troubleshooting Fortran build pipelines.
- Modernizing legacy build systems in complex engineering environments.
- Installer creation and licensing workflows for cross-platform desktop software.
Since we are a multi-cultural office in Denmark within a truly global organization fluency in English is a must. Danish language skills would be an advantage.

Office location
The position is in Hørsholm Denmark about 20 km north of Copenhagen in the beautiful DTU Science Park. The Science Park is easily accessible by express bus from DTU and Nørreport Station.
