You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder the general direction of the Director of Equity Programs the Associate Director provides comprehensive student support services holistic academic and financial aid advising to Guardian Scholars program participants. Serves as the lead to Guardian Scholars staff and students. This role is responsible for communicating program eligibility requirements policy updates and available grants and scholarships to students.
The Associate Director oversees internal processes to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of services and resources. The Associate Director provides services that are equitable inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. The Associate Director uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Exercises professional judgment to determine treatment of exceptional circumstances. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Experience maintaining an administrators calendar arranging meetings establishing agendas and participating in meetings with small and large groups of people.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to the Campus community vendors and other outside agencies. Skill in performing customer service in a polite and timely fashion: ability to identify what customer needs and reroute him/her to the correct department; ability to relay customer requests and complaints accurately and appropriately; to describe and convey services provided by the Division. Experience with working with a diverse group of individuals and multicultural university environment. Demonstrated skill in assisting and speaking with persons of various ages socio-economic cultural and/or education backgrounds. Ability to coordinate organize and demonstrate command of a complex and continuously changing array of information dates places and people in a systematic way in order to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort in the process of completing administrative support projects. Skill in making travel arrangements; familiarity with airline schedules rental car reservations and University travel regulations etc. Experience working in a university setting or housing office preferred. Thorough knowledge of online student information systems strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to conduct presentations to groups of varying sizes. Ability to make written and oral presentations/reports in English and in Spanish highly preferred.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $6320 - $9014 per month.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $6320 - $7000 per month commensurate with candidates education experience skills and training.
1.0 time-base 40 hours per week.
This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
