About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Community Engagement Officer at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Menzies) University of Tasmania. This role is responsible for coordinating community engagement activities that inform inspire and connect the public with Menzies work with a strong focus on promoting and growing the Menzies Consumer Registry and other longer term engagement opportunities.
What youll do:
- Coordinate the Institutes program of public events community engagement and science communication activities.
- Provide coordination and administration support to arrange and deliver public events and community engagement activities.
- Oversee and maintain key Menzies engagement platforms.
- Promote coordinate and grow the Menzies Consumer Registry.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of community engagement strategies and individual campaigns and events.
What were looking for:
- Experience planning coordinating and delivering community events forums or workshops.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking and the demonstrated ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with a range of people and organisations.
- Highly effective writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear interesting and relevant content for a variety of audiences highly desirable.
- Strong information technology skills with social media website graphics and content management skills.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105665 comprising base salary within the range of $80869 to $90312 plus 17% superannuation.
