Department Overview

The Motorola Solutions Electrical Engineering team based in Schaumburg IL specializes in designing and developing world-class digital solutions for the Mission Critical Communications market including Public Safety. The Electrical Engineering development team develops state-of-the-art Digital RF Mechanical and Power Supply solutions to meet their customers needs.


Job Description

A summer internship position with a primary focus on digital HW design for Infrastructure products. The position seeks a highly motivated individual to work under the guidance of a seasoned professional to assist design analysis and validation of the RF Site product development.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Digital controller development and test support for Microprocessors Memory FPGAs and communication interfaces such as Ethernet and USB.

  • Circuit simulation of Electrical designs and utilizing the latest test equipment for circuit analysis and certification.

  • Automated test setup and execution using LABVIEW or Python scripting.

  • Bench-level testing using an Oscilloscope DC PS and multimeter is required.

  • Basic rework and soldering skills are desired.


Basic Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Must graduate date on or after December 2026

  • Must be a US Citizen permanent resident or an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for master s-level students)
