Job details:
- Develop and analyze vehicular and pedestrian crash data from Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) databases
- Conduct traffic safety-related studies for projects contracted with the GDOT using technical tools
- Assist with road safety audits signal warrant analysis signal timing/operations traffic signal design and Intersection Control Evaluations (ICE) analysis
- Prepare traffic engineering study reports transportation concept reports and roadway safety audit reports using technical tools
- Design intersection improvements such as turn lane additions roundabouts and restricted crossing u-turns
- Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per week
Qualifications :
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering Architecture or a related field of study and 2 years of experience in job offered or as Traffic Associate Traffic Engineer or related occupation.
Alternatively employer will accept a Masters degree in Civil Engineering Geographic Information Science or a related field of study and 0 years of experience.
Employer will accept experience and skills gained in pursuit of university-level degree via coursework projects or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Experience in the following:
1. Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint
2. Traffic capacity analysis software including Synchro
3. Engineering CAD tools including MicroStation or AutoCAD
4. Geographic Information System (GIS) software including ArcGIS or QGIS
5. Google Earth
6. Project planning tools including MS Project and/or Primavera
7. Scripting and programming languages including Python and R.
