Job Summary
Diabetes Care and Education Specialist
Work location: Hybrid remote and in office at 612 E. Lamar Blvd Arlington Texas 76011 and Command Center located at Texas Health Dallas
Work hours: Part time 24 hours between Monday Friday from 8am - 5pm (Monday and Friday will be required)

Heres What You Need
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing require or
- Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Dietetic Food Science or Related field required
- Masters Degree in Nutrition Dietetic Food Science or Related field preferred
- 2 years certified diabetes care and education specialist required
- 3 years clinical nursing experience required or
- 3 years registered dietitian
- CDE/CDCES - Certified Diabetes Educator/Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist within 12 months of hire required and
- CDCES is highly preferred
- CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation upon hire required
- RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required or
- LD - Licensed Dietitian upon hire required and
- RD - Registered Dietitian upon hire required and
- CDR - Commission on Dietetic Registration Certification upon hire required
What You Will Do
Educate and assist patients with diabetes through appropriate evaluation and teaching methods.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to improve inpatient diabetes care education and glycemicmanagement.
- Applies business principles systems practice and population health management to support achievement ofthe Quadruple Aim (reduced costs better outcomes improved experience and improved work life for healthcareproviders).
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and clinical diabetes expertise serving as a clinical expert and resource forothers.
- Partners with the interdisciplinary care team to assist with glycemic management in the inpatient diabetespopulation.
