Job Summary

Diabetes Care and Education Specialist
Work location: Hybrid remote and in office at 612 E. Lamar Blvd Arlington Texas 76011 and Command Center located at Texas Health Dallas
Work hours: Part time 24 hours between Monday Friday from 8am - 5pm (Monday and Friday will be required)

Heres What You Need
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing require or
  • Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Dietetic Food Science or Related field required
  • Masters Degree in Nutrition Dietetic Food Science or Related field preferred
  • 2 years certified diabetes care and education specialist required
  • 3 years clinical nursing experience required or
  • 3 years registered dietitian
  • CDE/CDCES - Certified Diabetes Educator/Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist within 12 months of hire required and
  • CDCES is highly preferred
  • CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation upon hire required
  • RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required or
  • LD - Licensed Dietitian upon hire required and
  • RD - Registered Dietitian upon hire required and
  • CDR - Commission on Dietetic Registration Certification upon hire required
What You Will Do
  • Educate and assist patients with diabetes through appropriate evaluation and teaching methods.

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to improve inpatient diabetes care education and glycemicmanagement.
  • Applies business principles systems practice and population health management to support achievement ofthe Quadruple Aim (reduced costs better outcomes improved experience and improved work life for healthcareproviders).
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and clinical diabetes expertise serving as a clinical expert and resource forothers.

  • Partners with the interdisciplinary care team to assist with glycemic management in the inpatient diabetespopulation.
