Job Description

Core Responsibilities
To perform the job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Perform routine inspections preventative maintenance and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.

  • Troubleshoot diesel engines electrical systems and pump problems.

  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.

  • Assist customers and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems at customer job sites; support start-up duties and resolve issues as needed.

  • Conduct initial inspections of Godwin fleet equipment for damages; diagnose and report findings to the Service Manager.

  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality standards.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipment.

  • Conduct diagnostic checks using computer technology.

  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation schedule to provide after-hours customer support.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 35 years of diesel experience and/or relevant training; or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

  • Valid drivers license with a strong driving record.

  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.

  • CDL Class B preferred.

  • Strong skills in diagnosing basic mechanical problems.

  • Thorough knowledge of equipment repair methods tools and techniques.

  • Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices.

  • General DC electrical and circuit testing skills.

  • Familiarity with diesel engine components and functions.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.

  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues (preferred).

  • Ability to work independently self-motivated and self-directed.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers co-workers and managers.

Day in the Life
As a Senior Field Service Technician (Travel-Based) youll spend much of your time at customer sites often outdoors and in varying weather conditions. The role requires use of PPE exposure to loud noise and occasional handling of hazardous materials. Physical demands include regular sitting standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.

This position involves frequent travel to customer locations and participation in the on-call rotation is a regular expectation. Standard hours are 40 per week with additional time as needed to support customers.

SALARY:

The estimated salary range for this position is $29/hr. - $35/ pay is dependent on multiple factors such as skills experience and work location and is not typically at the top of the range.
