Job Summary
Job Summary for Patient Account Specialist Senior
- Work onsite at a multi-facility hospital business office (1600 Foster Street Lake Charles LA)
- Responsible for patient account collections from insurance (commercial governmental third-party payers)
- Ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for all services rendered
- Identify and resolve denied or underpaid insurance claims within payer guidelines
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer claims processing appeal procedures and provider contracts
- Demonstrate understanding of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB-04 and HCFA 1500 forms)
- Use online payer portals and resources for claims management
- Identify and communicate account resolution and reimbursement issues or trends
- Work Monday Friday 8-hour shifts
- High school diploma/GED verification is not required for this role
