The impact you will have
Are you a detail-orientedprofessional whothrives on tacklingtechnical accounting challengesAs theRevenueAccountantyou will be the subject matter expert for the Companys revenue operations and compliance willbe responsiblefortherigorous governance over revenue operations and accounting includingmaintainingeffective internal controls for all revenue understanding of the Company you will alsospearheadinitiativesaimed at continuous improvement of systems and processeswith an eye on efficient andaccuraterevenue accounting and reporting.
What youll do:
Responsible for the revenue recognition month-end close process ensuringtimelyandaccuratefinancial results
Conduct and prepare thorough relevant analysis to ensure proper revenue recognition of productand servicesensurerelated sales transactions are correctly reflected in ERP system
Responsible for reviewing contract terms and conditions researching accounting guidance and determiningappropriate accountingtreatment for significant arrangements
Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of revenue reporting and support thetimelypreparation of monthly quarterly and annual internal financial reports as well as parent company (World WideTechnology) submissions and analysis.
Prepare and analyze monthly results and develop insightful analysis and commentary on business performance vs Plan and Forecasts
Assess and draft technical memos for relevant new pronouncements
Maintain revenue accounting principles practices and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting
Work with key business stakeholders to ensurecompliance withkey internal control and accounting standard requirements
Fosterproactivecross-functionalrelationships within and outside Finance department including Sales Business Development and Fulfillment
Demonstrate strong judgment and attention to detail when evaluating processes and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive system and process improvements.
Take initiative and ownership from idea to execution proactivelyidentifyingopportunities for better alignment and delivering impactful results.
Document andmaintainexisting reporting procedures
Work closely with external audit teamregardingreportingand auditrequirements
Ad-hoc projects asrequired
Whatyoullbring to the table:
CPA with big 4 experience or equivalent experience within the technology industry desired
Demonstrated superior Excel and ERP experiencerequired(SAP an asset)
Demonstrated strong IFRS 15and/orASC 606technical accounting background and ability to synthesize and analyze complex accounting standards and draft accounting policy
US GAAP experience is an asset
Able to research accounting guidance and determineappropriate accountingtreatment on an ad hoc basis for special transactions
Demonstrated strength in written and oral communication
Superior attention to detail
Excellentinterpersonalwrittenandverbalcommunication skills
