Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Bachelors degree in Psychology Guidance and Counseling Education Social Science or any related field.
- Preferably with at least 5 years of experience in a similar or related role in the tertiary setting.
- Articulate with strong self-confidence and initiative.
- Independent and a self-starter with a strong focus on student development and a passion for contributing to the holistic formation of young people.
- Deep understanding of college student behavior and attitudes with the ability to craft policies that support the schools vision for character formation while discouraging destructive behavior.
- High level of resilience and emotional stability to handle emotionally charged cases particularly those that elicit strong reactions from students and/or parents.
- Skilled in managing operations and implementing innovations to address the needs of a growing student population.
- Ability to work effectively on both broad-based strategies and day-to-day details.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- Excellent communication (English) interpersonal problem-solving analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong database management research critical-thinking and leadership abilities.
- Experience in behavioral program development and execution is an advantage.
- Proficient in group facilitation processing and conflict resolution.
- Knowledgeable in and aligned with the restorative discipline framework for managing student behaviors.
- Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
- Adaptable to new technological advancements is considered an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Discipline/Behavior Management
- Promote student character formation by ensuring and maintaining proper student decorum in accordance with the Student Handbook
- Supervise monitor and manage student discipline with an eye on identifying root causes and making appropriate calls on how to best address these causes
- Periodically review the Student Handbook on discipline-related policies and publish all the necessary changes and updates
- Convene chair and participate on student discipline and formation committees providing student disciplinary opinions on an ongoing basis
- Coordinate and facilitate the student discipline hearing process including notifications to involved stakeholders preparation of correspondences related to the case resolutions and opinions on behalf of the school in connection with student disciplinary hearings.
- Form hearing committees as deemed necessary to conduct a full hearing on a particular case
- Develop a close partnership with the parents and/or guardians of students through case conferences that serves as an opportunity to explain the alleged violation of the student as well as the policys importance and implications to maintaining a positive school environment.
- Inform students of their rights and corresponding responsibilities as members of the CIIT community through regular orientation programs.
- Provide information about latest national policies CHED memorandums that impacts discipline and formation policies programs services and policies and communicate this to the appropriate stakeholders
Behavior and Values Formation
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to managing discipline and behavior concerns are in place.
- Develop and execute appropriate and targeted formation programs for students with discipline behavior issues/concerns using the restorative justice framework and leadership by example tenet as anchors.
- Proactively contribute to the crafting of policies procedures and activities that encourage good behavior as well as the continuing positive behavior formation of students anchored on CIITs core values.
- Assist and collaborate with the Academic Team Student Formation and Student Services Teams Student Council and Organizations as well as other professionals with the aim of carrying out effective interventions for students with behavior concerns/issues.
- Assist the program heads (academic council) in developing programs on student formation and to make sure that the mantra of Formation by Example is properly carried out.
- Periodically observe and evaluate in collaboration with the Program Heads and College Dean when necessary faculty members on certain behaviors with the goal of ensuring that mentors lead by example.
- Collect data and analyze information about the needs of the students who have behaviors that challenge the schools core values and help identify the support that is needed to address these issues
- Serve as a mentor to students in need of support in terms of their discipline/behavior formation
- Assist faculty members in addressing behavioral problems that need to undergo character formation
- Ensure that students are industry-ready and are morally-upright professionals of their chosen industry
Administrative Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an effective and efficient case documentation process that follows the established rules for case management guided by the published Student handbook policies and procedures.
- Monitor and document the discipline and formation journey of students.
- Providing reports and statistical data related to the role and function upon request
- Attend meetings and committee discussions as assigned and/or requested
- Maintain updated documents and supporting exhibits in connection with accreditation and CHED monitoring reports
Required Experience:
Senior IC
