RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
Métropoles sans hépatites C (MSHC) is an ambitious project that aims to make Montreal the first city in North America to eliminate HCV through a bold natural experiment that will reshape responses to infectious diseases and healthcare delivery for vulnerable populations.
Reporting to the principal investigator and project manager the incumbent is responsible for coordinating a variety components and pilot projects of the MSHC initiative.
General Duties
Support Coordination of Projects
Assist in the coordination of MSHC research studies
Help identify and recruit potential participants explain study procedures and obtain informed consent to participants
Schedule and organize data collection sessions with participants (e.g. workshops focus groups and individual interviews)
Coordinate logistics for data collection including booking rooms preparing materials and managing participant incentives
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all study-related activities
Ensure ethical standards and confidentiality are maintained throughout all research activities
Assist in the implementation of new and future studies related to MSHC.
Qualitative Research Support
Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing and future research project
Support the development of interview guides
Assist in coding and thematic analysis of qualitative data
Contribute to the synthesis and interpretation of qualitative findings for reports and presentations
Support the integration of qualitative findings with quantitative data for mixed-methods studies.
Education and Knowledge Transfer
Guide the creation of educational and/or promotional material newsletters and other educational and outreach tools
Contribute to the development of communication and knowledge translation strategies.
Incumbent may be asked to assist the program director with administrative tasks. Other responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to:
Assist in the development of ICFs questionnaires and editing protocols for studies
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor including support to other coordinators and research personnel.
Excellent command of English both spoken and written with fluency in spoken French
High level of initiative and organization
Ability to prioritize and to multitask
Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team
Ability to exercise tact discretion and confidentiality
Computing skills including Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Access.
Status : : Temporary Occasional.
Pay Scale: $24.40 - $45.29/hour. Commensurate with education & work experience.
Work Shift: Variable Schedule.
Work Site: 5252 Maisonneuve.
