Job Summary
Summary:
Supports outbound shipping operations with a focus on small parcel orders processed through an automated FedEx Ground line. Ensures packages are accurately verified labeled and shipped on schedule while maintaining clean safe workspaces and assisting with related warehouse tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the automated FedEx Ground shipping line ensuring accurate order flow and timely processing.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy; create manual labels and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Use FedEx Ship Manager to process miscellaneous packages and schedule FedEx Express/Overnight shipments.
- Assist with customer pickups by verifying order contents loading vehicles and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Post package weights and shipping charges apply correct labels or postage.
- Use plastic wrap machines to secure large pickup or common carrier orders.
- Operate a forklift (hi-lo) to move items to staging or shipping areas.
- Assemble and stage orders in freezers or coolers following cold chain requirements.
- Create and pull Monday FedEx orders using handheld scanners; coordinate with greenhouse staff to address live product shortages.
- Provide directions to inbound truck drivers as needed.
- Keep the FedEx line clean and clear: remove debris spray down as needed clean scanner sensors and report any issues to IT.
- Maintain a safe organized work area and follow all company safety policies.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work on your feet in cold or loud environments for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow basic written and verbal instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned; must be able to multi-task and work independently.
$21.75/hr
