Job Description
This position is responsible for taking non-emergency calls via phone or in person for law enforcement assistance. Incumbents review requests complete incident reports and maintain daily records and files.
Essential Duties- Receives non-emergency calls via the phone or in person for law enforcement assistance.
- Compiles necessary information and completes incident report on all requests in compliance with Georgia law.
- Assess non-emergency calls determines necessary action and dispatches requests as necessary.
- Maintains daily records and files of all service requests for tracking purposes.
- Communicates with other departments as needed to request or provide information.
- Testifies in Court.
- This position may require shift work.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Other Job Requirements/Information- This job is a civilian position in a public safety department. Due to the sensitive nature of this position a public safety background is required which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories and fingerprinting.
- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Grade & SalaryMinimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED AND
- One year experience in a law enforcement environment
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Other Job Requirements/Information- Must obtain Basic Terminal Operator of GCIC/NCIC certification within one year.
- Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
