QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preference may be given to candidates with post-secondary education.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers students parents and associates.
Experience working with youth is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization and self-starter skills.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel applications and ability to work with other types of applications after training.
Maintain a valid drivers license and availability of an automobile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor student attendance by reviewing various student attendance and intervention reports.
Maintain contact with students and parents through appropriate methods such as phone calls conferences or email communication.
Make phone calls or home visits to students who are absent for three consecutive days.
Work with parents and students to ensure paperwork such as Free and Reduced Meal forms and Student Data forms are signed and returned to school.
Work collaboratively with the Pupil Personnel Worker and Community School Coordinator assigned to the school to perform home visits for the following reasons:
Follow-up on repeat absences and tardiness.
Promote active parent involvement in the school community.
Assist with the Truancy Reduction Program.
Complete and log attendance intervention tasks associated with WCPS Attendance Procedures.
Attend Student and Family Services professional development and team meetings.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers students parents and other school staff members.
Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
Part-Time
