Manufacturing Engineer South Bend IN (Onsite)

Reports to: VP of Operational Excellence
Work Type: Full-Time Onsite
Location: South Bend Indiana
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder only (ITAR restricted)

Key Accountabilities

• Apply Lean principles to improve manufacturing efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
• Design layouts for equipment and workspace to optimize flow and space utilization.
• Estimate production times staffing needs and costs for management planning.
• Communicate production schedules and capabilities to support operations.
• Collaborate with vendors on product specifications equipment and material purchases.
• Lead technical upgrades equipment installations and tooling implementation.
• Participate in contract reviews for major projects.
• Evaluate products against specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct health and safety reviews for new or modified equipment.
• Travel as needed for business purposes.
• Demonstrate and uphold TKMNA Employee Attributes and Competencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years in a Lean Manufacturing environment
• Technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication
• Experience with repetitive and build-to-suit manufacturing
• Proven success managing large complex projects
• Strong communication organizational and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset

Preferred:

• Degree in Manufacturing Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

• Salary Range: Pending (will be competitive and aligned with experience)
• Work Environment: 100% onsite at our South Bend IN facility
