About the Role
The CSN will take a leadership role and display an expert knowledge of Early Psychosis including appropriate treatment pathways and nursing interventions as well as Electroconvulsive Treatment (ECT) coordination and a physical health portfolio.

  • Supports the day-to-day needs and development of the unit staff acting as a role model and mentor
  • Provides secondary consultation at consumer clinical reviews and ward rounds as necessary Develops and maintains effective linkages to ensure optimal continuity of care between other parts of the service including Community Teams Emergency Department housing and other area mental health services whilst supporting and upskilling junior staff to do the same.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of a comprehensive range of nursing interventions for people experiencing serious mental illness and complex needs



Classifications for this position will range fromRegistered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($110801 - $119324 per annum pro rata)



Your Contribution

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in mental health
  • Current Victorian drivers license
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated clinical leadership experience in adult older persons and/or community mental health service provision
  • Proficiency in practicing in line with Recovery-oriented practice and Trauma-Informed Care principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with clinical colleagues consumers and carers fostering a cooperative team environment

About Mental Health
St. Vincents Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner-city areas of Yarra and Boroondara. The Adult Mental Health service components are: The Footbridge Community Care Unit (CCU) a 44 bed Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) located on the St. Vincents Hospital Fitzroy Campus the North Fitzroy PARC and two community mental health services (CMHS) at Hawthorn and East Melbourne (Clarendon CMHS) consistingof Continuing Care (CCT) Mobile Support and Treatment Service (MSTS) and Homeless Outreach (CHOPS) servicesPsychiatric Triage and Crisis Assessment and Treatment (CAT) service Police Ambulance and Clinical Response (PACER) ED Mental Health Extended Triage and The Primary Intervention Care Team (PICT) Hospital Outreach Post Suicide Engagement (HOPE) Supporting Tenants at Yarra Housing Project (STAY).
