Job Description

Are you a passionate and motivated Music ECT ready to start your teaching career in a supportive and thriving school


An excellent secondary school in Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Music to join their Performing Arts department from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new teacher to inspire young people and develop professionally in a nurturing environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position starting January. You will be teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of contributing to KS5 if desired. As a Music ECT you will benefit from a well-structured induction programme regular mentoring and training opportunities tailored to your professional development. The role offers scope to lead extracurricular music clubs ensembles and concerts giving you the chance to shape the cultural life of the school.

About the School

The school is a well-regarded secondary with around 1200 pupils on roll praised for its inclusive ethos and strong academic outcomes. Ofsted has recognised its commitment to high standards and excellent pupil behaviour making it a positive environment for both teaching and learning. The Performing Arts department is vibrant and collaborative equipped with dedicated music classrooms practice rooms and performance spaces. The staff team are friendly experienced and keen to support new teachers in building confidence and refining their practice.

We are looking for someone who:

Is an Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Music with a relevant degree

Holds or is working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has the enthusiasm to inspire students through a creative and engaging curriculum

Is committed to delivering high-quality differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4

Shows a willingness to contribute to the wider school community particularly through music events and extracurricular activities
