Job Summary

An exciting entry-level opportunity is available for an ambitious Science Teacher (ECT) to join an Outstanding mixed comprehensive in Enfield starting in January 2026. This is a permanent full-time post designed to provide an exceptional start to a career in science education supported by excellent resources.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute highly practical engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and specialist science at Key Stage 4 (and potentially 5) to a mixed student body.
  • Engage fully with the ECF programme benefiting from the protected teaching load and consistent high-quality mentorship.
  • Develop students ability to conduct rigorous practical assessments and foster genuine scientific enquiry in the laboratory.
  • Contribute actively to the vibrant extracurricular life of the Science faculty perhaps leading a new STEM initiative.
  • Track and evaluate student performance diligently using data to refine and inform teaching methodologies.
  • Uphold the schools unwavering academic and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and eligibility to complete the ECF.
  • A degree specialism in a Science discipline (Biology Chemistry or Physics).
  • A profound passion for science and enthusiasm for fostering practical skills in young people.
  • Excellent classroom presence communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A willingness to implement feedback immediately and a strong commitment to professional development.
  • The ability to thrive collaboratively within a large highly effective Science team.
