Job Description

Teaching Assistant Full Time/Part Time ASAP Start

  • Teaching assistant required to support pupils aged 5 to 16
  • Work within an alternative provision supporting children with learning and behavioural challenges

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing alternative provision. The role involves working closely with pupils who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education supporting their academic social and emotional development.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored support to help them overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will be part of a team that puts relationships first understands behaviour as communication and fosters trust belonging and resilience among its students.

Key Information:

  • Work with pupils aged 5 to 16 with diverse learning and behavioural needs
  • Support the inclusion and academic progress of pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings
  • Contribute to a safe consistent and caring learning environment
  • Help pupils develop resilience and prepare for adult life
  • Be part of a team recognised for outstanding pupil behaviour and development

Candidate Requirements:

  • Passion for supporting childrens learning and personal growth
  • Patience empathy and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to varied pupil needs
  • Previous experience in education or working with children is advantageous but not essential
  • A passion for sport
