The Role
The school is looking for a qualified Drama Teacher with experience teaching across all key stages up to GCSE and A-Level. The ideal candidate will be adept at fostering a positive encouraging environment where students can confidently explore performance and theatrical concepts. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality practical and theoretical Drama lessons to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level.
- Developing and implementing a creative curriculum that explores devising scripted work and various theatre practitioners and genres.
- Directing and coordinating school productions showcases and performances ensuring wide student participation and artistic excellence.
- Mentoring students and providing effective feedback to help them develop strong performance and analytical skills preparing them thoroughly for examinations.
- Collaborating with the wider Arts faculty to promote the importance of creativity and performance across the school.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding position you should have:
- A degree in Drama Theatre Studies or a related performing arts field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
- Proven experience teaching Drama at the secondary school level with expertise at GCSE and A-Level.
- Proficiency in a range of theatrical styles and a strong understanding of relevant examination specifications.
- Excellent communication direction and classroom management skills with a clear passion for inspiring young talent.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale) commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
